United Nations Office on Drugs & Crime

EFM welcomes United Nations Office on Drugs & Crime, and Container Control Programme (CCP) Regional Coordinator, Ulrich Meiser, and team.

In a meeting with EFM in-house brokers and PNG Customs, Mr. Meiser mentioned that the UNODC-WCO Container Control Programme (CCP) is to build capacity in countries seeking to improve risk management, supply chain security, and trade facilitation in seaports, airports, and land border crossings in order to prevent the cross-border movement of illicit goods.

EFM was identified as one of the agencies to carry out this exercise due to its high level of compliance with customs processes and procedures, as well as being granted the only AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) in Papua New Guinea.

The program is in the implementation stage, with assessment & training being done in Port Moresby. A similar exercise will take place in Lae, the main commercial manufacturing and distribution center in the coming months.
